HEROES HAVOC OBSTACLE COURSE:
Course distance is approximately 2 miles around the Dixie State University campus. The course traverses various surfaces to include asphalt roads, water filled ditches (no swimming required)/mud, grass, and lose dirt. Numerous Military style obstacles are incorporated into the course. Highlights include: walls, trenches, mud pits, tight ropes and a few other surprises to challenge each runner!
Teams consisting of either four runners (who race together) or individuals will run one team at a time. Starting order and times will be determined the day of the event – first come first served. There will be a 2 minute break between each team’s start. Your time starts on our command to “Go” and will end when your team finishes the last obstacle.
Awards will be given to the top three times in each category, (Note: there are 5 categories): All Female; All Male; Mixed Gender; Youth – Mixed (at least 2 runners under 17), and individual. A Traveling Trophy (kept in the DSU ROTC building) will be awarded to the team with the overall fastest time, (*Note: Dixie State University Army ROTC is the current holder).
The difficulty of the course requires each participant to wear “rough-n-ready” athletic attire that you are not afraid to get dirty! While safety precautions have been taken, the nature of this event requires that runners wear attire that reduces the possibility of mishap. Fun costumes are encouraged, however please make sure they cannot get snagged on obstacles, impair your vision, or prevent you from breathing normally. This event is for all ages so please refrain from wearing offensive wording on your attire. Event management reserves the right to ask participants to alter attire as they deem necessary.
